New Study Reveals that Small Amounts of Red Wine Can Make You Healthier

When it comes to cholesterol, there are two types: good and bad. It’s important to have higher levels of HDL or good cholesterol and lower levels of LDL or bad cholesterol. If you’re looking for ways to increase your good cholesterol levels, look no further than red wine.

A study which was recently published in the Annals of Internal Medicine followed 224 volunteers. Various groups were told to drink 5 ounces of one of the following with dinner every night: red wine, white wine, or mineral water.

At the end of the two-year study, it was found that “the red wine drinkers had significantly increased their levels of good HDL and had a more beneficial cholesterol ratio compared to the group the drank water.”
